The traditional multi-day international orienteering tournament is held annually in early May in the most beautiful area - in the Schuchinsk-Borovoye resort area, National Nature Park "Burabay".
The format of the competitions consists of four starts at the middle distance and the final start in the pursuit race (start with a handicap from the previous days of the competitions).
Usually more than 300 athletes from Kazakhstan and Russia take part in the competitions.
It was planned that this year, for the first time in history, these starts will be held in WRE status - races on May 3 and 4. However, unfortunately, due to the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic, the WRE starts were canceled.
More than 120 athletes from Akmola, West Kazakhstan, Karaganda, North Kazakhstan regions, the cities of Almaty and Nur-Sultan (Astana) took part in the competitions.
Denis Vlassov from Almaty won in the M-21 with an advantage of 10 minutes over the second Dmitriy Adamovich from Nur-Sultan. Representative of the North Kazakhstan Region Azat Nazyrov took third place, losing only 10 seconds to Dmitriy!
In the W-21, Asem Nazyrova (NKR) won a landslide victory. Her lead from the closest pursuers was 17 minutes. But the fight for the second place was exciting - Maria Vlassova from Almaty was 8 seconds ahead of Natalia Chuprikova from North Kazakhstan Region!
